June 2024 · 2 minute read

One of the more prestigious tournaments in pro wrestling is coming back, as Game Changer Wrestling and will hold the Jersey J-Cup on February 11, and the revived JCW World Championship will be on the line.

The two promotions confirmed that the tournament winner will be the new JCW Champion. Mike Bailey, Jonathan Gresham, Alex Shelley, Lio Rush, and Joey Janela, among other stars, will compete for the gold.

“We’re mixing together some very established stars at the top of their game with people who aren’t as well-known–yet,” GCW founder and CEO Brett Lauderdale said in an interview with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated. “The J-Cup’s history is not to be slept on. Twenty years ago, it was the J-Cup that gave Super Dragon, CM Punk and Samoa Joe their first big platform on the East Coast. This is something that has a legacy, and we hope to restore it to the position it once had.”
