Chris Callahan Obituary, Death –Brick: Christopher E. Callahan, age 27, went away in peace on Sunday, October 16, 2016, after waging a valiant and extended struggle against addiction. Christopher was born in Pt. Pleasant, although he spent his childhood in Brick, and he attended Brick Memorial High School until he graduated in 2008.

Chris was an honor student and participated in the National Honor Society. He participated in both track and football at the school, where he was a member of the track team and threw the discus and shot put. He was a devoted follower of both the New York Yankees and the New York Giants. Christopher was the canine handler for the bed bug detection dog named Bugsy and worked as an exterminator for the firm that his family owns and operates.

Callahan’s Termite and Pest Control. Theresa Callahan and Elizabeth O’Connell, both of whom were his grandmothers, both away before he was born. His devoted parents, Michael and Susan Callahan, his sister, Brooke Callahan, his grandfather, Edmund Callahan, his aunt, Leslie Spencer and her husband, Don, his uncle, Bruce O’Connell and his wife, Theresa, his cousin, Stephanie O’Connell.

Large number of extended cousins, family members, and friends are among those who are left behind. The O’Brien Funeral Home in Brick, located at 505 Burnt Tavern Road, will be open for visitation on Wednesday, October 19, 2016, from 4 to 8 o’clock in the evening. On Thursday, October 20th, at 9:30 in the morning, there will be a Mass of the Resurrection celebrated at St. Martha’s RC Church in Pt. Pleasant. After the funeral, the burial will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Toms River.
