Dean Ambrose is reportedly making his independent scene return as Jon Moxley next month, and we could learn of some dates in the near future. According to this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Moxley is expected to appear on the indies in June, if not earlier, and some of the bookings should be announced shortly.
It was noted that the general belief is Moxley wants a deal where he has full creative control over his appearances, and said Moxley should be able to command several thousand dollars for any appearances he does make. Meltzer speculated that WWE thinks he’ll be back at some point down the road, noting they probably wouldn’t give him such a big sendoff if they thought he was headed to All Elite Wrestling or New Japan Pro-Wrestling.
Yesterday, Ambrose re-emerged as Jon Moxley in a promo video posted to his official Twitter account. He worked his final match for WWE on April 21st in Moline, Illinois in what was billed as “The Shield’s Last Chapter.”
