Hollywood actress Lili Reinhart has criticized celebrities who promote unhealthy behavior in the name of maintaining appearance.
The actress condemned celebrities who prioritize the glitz and glam of the Met Gala over their own health, and then publicly discuss it, potentially misleading vulnerable fans.
While not directly mentioning anyone, it’s evident that she was alluding to reality TV star Kim Kardashian, who made headlines for extreme measures taken to lose 16 lbs. in three weeks to fit into a Met Gala dress previously worn by Marilyn Monroe in 1962.
The reality star, aged 41, shared on the Met Gala red carpet, that meeting that weight target “was like a role. I was determined to do it” and achieved the look by cutting out sugar and other carbohydrates for three straight weeks.
“To walk a red carpet and do an interview where you say how starving you are… because you haven’t eaten carbs in the last month… all to fit in a dress?” expressed the 25-year-old “Riverdale” actress in a now-deleted Instagram Story as reported by E! News.
“So wrong. So messed up on multiple levels,” continued Reinhart.
“To openly admit to starving yourself for the sake of the Met Gala, when you know very well that millions of young men and women are looking up to you and listening to your every word. The ignorance is disgustingly otherworldly.”
